Campus
Over the past six years, CCXD | Cédric Van Parys x DROM developed the new Sobinco campus. The newly planned expansion is unprecedented in its history as the factory will almost double its floor area by 2025. We propose a masterplan in which we separate the new development into parts, creating a repertoire of distinct buildings —production hall, warehouse, offices and tower— with characteristic architecture, while targeting the allocation of the investment. The site will transform from a factory into a new Industrial Campus to be the face of the company as it continues to grow in the international market.

Architecture
The most notable features of the campus are the Golden Terminal and the Sobinco Tower. The terminal references a classic shed that is cut open, creating a monumental and dramatic main entrance to the building. The Sobinco Tower is a monumental artwork translated into a building. The tower is a stack of three steel frame boxes wrapped around a concrete core, which will become the creative heart of the campus. This architectural folly—based on the concept of a constructivist radio tower—provides a place to work undisturbed with a 360° view.
